Sir/Madam……1).the non metal used to manufacture electrodes is Graphite & not Carbon….
2)what ion must be present in electrolyte….Plz make the question clear….
though the answer is Silver…I’m little confused…
If I’m wrong please correct me & explain…
Thnx in advance….
Thanks Sunita. Those were mistakes. Thank you very much for finding them. The questions are already rectified.
Thanks again..
sir,
in the question: name the type of bonding in which shared pair of electrons is donated by one atom only;
the answer should be coordinate bond,but it is not given.
You are right. A co-ordinate bond (also called a dative covalent bond) is a covalent bond (a shared pair of electrons) in which both electrons come from the same atom. So you can very well mention covalent bonding as co-ordinate bonding is a type of covalent bonding only. Hope this is clear..
awesome quiz …. thanks a ton it helped me a lot ….
i hope some of these questions will come in tomorrow’s paper ….
Hi Sir,
How can sodium hydroxide react with an acidic gas to form an insoluble salt since all sodium salts are soluble??
Also, methane is also used as a fuel – better known as gobar gas?
Also, what is a linear molecule?
sir,
Name a non-metal which forms a stable compound with H2 & the options given r
a)CaO
b)NO2
im confused …… plz clear my doubt
Which acidic gas tends to poison the catalyst, used in Haber’s process?
1.Carbon dioxide
2.sulphur dioxide
it’s supposed to be Carbon di oxide……..
Moomi, The options were wrongly typed. It is rectified now. Thanks for bringing it to our notice.
The Q says NaOH reacting with a salt solution. Ferrous sulphate on reacting will form Ferrous hydroxide which is a green ppt.
Methane is the right answer, there was a typo.
Linear molecule: A molecule whose atoms are arranged so that the bond angle between each is 180
No.. Sulphur impurities poison the catalyst..
That’s good for revision and checking our ability.
which oxide out of gold and platinium does not form oxide at any temprature. none of them form sir…………….plz recheck
Gold forms Au2O3 at very high temperature and it is more stable than Au2O
The quiz is great……………I hope some of the questions show up in tomorrow’s paper……Only one doubt…………..How sodium hydroxide reacts with an acidic gas to form a insoluble salt????? All sodium salts are soluble……..But Calcium hydroxide reacts with an acidic gas, carbon dioxide, to form calcium carbonate which is insoluble. Are you sure the answer is sodium hydroxide??????? Pls clarify my doubt at your earliest.
great quiz!!
There is a question which asks “Name a salt solution which gives a green precipitate with sodium hydroxide”. Can you tell us the question number you are referring to.
sir……….. the question: name an alkali reacts wid an acidic gas to form a salt insoluble in water is calcium hydroxide……………………if i’m wrong plz correct me……….thnx
Q. 19
Name an alkali which reacts with an acidic gas forming a salt insoluble in water.
* Sodium hydroxide
* Calcium hydroxide
2NaOH + SO2 (for example) – Na2SO3 + H20
The salt is soluble, as all salts of Na are. But CaS03 (to use the same example) is insoluble. That is why lime water turns milky when sulphur dioxide is passed through it.
that was awesomeeeeeeeee
u r right
Ca(OH)2 and CO2
sir/madam plz explain for me the question
state why the candle gets extinguished after sometime and not immediately???

Name a gas which is liberated when concentrated sulphuric acid reacts with oxalic acid.
im confused
plz make the question clear
